Denise Krol

Optical materials, ultrafast laser-matter interactions, laser-based characterization techniques 

Krol uses ultrafast lasers to fabricate and characterize well-defined micro- and nanostructured materials. Her research group focuses on ultrafast laser writing of waveguide devices in glasses of different compositions, as well as theoretical models of laser-matter interaction and laser-induced materials changes. Laser-written waveguide devices are used in optical signal processing, data storage and biosensing and bioimaging.
